Day 1 - ARRIVAL & CHECK IN

Grocery Shopping either before or after arrival (see Amenities page for store suggestions)
Alternatively, you could shop at the small local grocery store in the village of Poli (GROCERY, BUTCHER, BAKERY) and then go for a nice walk in the Old Central Street of Poli with its typical narrow streets.
Aperitivo and Dinner Service in Villa or by Trattoria Mauri or Pizza take away from Poli if you dont want to cook.
Day 2 - TIVOLI
The historic Tivoli city, proud on being even older than Rome itself.
Just 20 kilometers from Villa Sant’Angelo, this municipality offers its visitors an infinite number of monuments and places of interest to discover and visit: religious, civil and military architecture, archaeological sites and even a nature reserve, Monte Catillo.

Even if the places of interest are numerous, two architectural structures are absolutely not to be missed. These are the two symbolic villas of the city: Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este. The first, built in the 2nd century AD, was the home of the famous emperor Hadrian. This wonderful villa, which was once even bigger than the center of Imperial Rome, has a very classic look as can be seen from the central basin surrounded by the typical Roman statues. It is the largest and most luxurious residence ever built in Italy and boasts an impressive collection of temples, theatres, spas and swimming pools.

Villa d'Este, on the other hand, was built in perfect Renaissance style in the 16th century, and is famous for its wonderful trees and gardens, as well as spectacular waterfalls and fountains, including the Fontana dell'Ovato and the Cento Fontane. A masterpiece of architecture to be admired and photographed.
​
You can visit both on the same day with a tasty break in one of the nice restaurants based in Tivoli city centre.
DAY 3 - ROMA Or OSTIA ANTICA
If it’s your first time we strongly suggest you to touch base Rome for 1 day visit.
Better you to carefully plan what to visit and which monuments you are more interested in. Some of them require a pre-booking.

If you are more willing to skip the Eternal City and focus your holiday on the surrounding area, Ostia Antica is an interesting choice.
​
The Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica is certainly one of the places to visit, to discover what life was like for ancient Roman citizens and admire the main monuments of the commercial and military seaport of Republican Rome. We suggest you to book a guided tour in the company of an archaeologist who will introduce you to the archaeological site, illustrating anecdotes and backgrounds of ancient Roman life.

Ostia Antica, a port city founded in the 4th century BC, used to be a city where more than 100,000 Roman citizens once resided, and which has nothing to envy to the more famous and renowned Pompeii.
​
The archaeological area preserves a part of the ancient city, excavated between the 19th and 20th centuries: here you can admire the beautifully preserved remains of taverns, thermal baths, warehouses and theatres, and stroll along the main street known as Decumanu Massimo. It is also possible to visit the Baths of Neptune, crowned by an incredibly intact mosaic depicting the god of the sea pulled by a chariot with 4 horses and the Forica (public latrines), made up of a marble bench with 20 well-spaced holes them, running along the 4 walls of a room. Inside this archaeological site, the main monument is certainly the Roman Theater, capable of holding up to 4000 spectators.

Ostia Antica is few km away from the seaside where you can enjoy a meal after the visit before driving back to Villa Sant’Angelo.
DAY 4 - WINE TASTING
OLEVANO ROMANO VINEYARDS AND WINE TASTING BY CASALE LUCINO IN THE AFTERNOON/SUNSET TIME (MORNING OFF IN THE VILLA ENJOYING THE SWIMMING POOL)

On the border between the provinces of Rome and Frosinone, lies the production area of ​​Cesanese wine, a native dark grape variety from Lazio. Ancient and precious grape that in recent decades has been distinguishing itself on the regional and national wine scene. The altitudes of the vineyard’s hills are varied, ranging from 235 to 550/600 asl.

The landscape of Olevano Romano offers a suggestive view thanks to the symmetry of the rows. The exposure favorable to the ripeness of the grapes, the tuffaceous and pozzolanic soil and the proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea infuse these grapes with great qualities, which allow Cesanese to be a great wine for aging. Cesanese is the most representative native black grape variety of Lazio.

The Cantine Donna Chiara Company was born from the Ceracchi family in Gallicano nel Lazio, in the province of Rome. Third generation of wine producers since when, in the early 1950s, the grandparents Bruno and Chiara Ceracchi used to sell their wine on special carts traditionally called "Carretto a vino" pulled by horses.
Today the company is led by their children Giulio, Luca and Alessio Ceracchi, who have been joined by Alessandra Ceracchi, daughter of Giulio and granddaughter of Bruno and Chiara, giving the company a fresh and fearless connotation tending from quality to excellence. It is one of the showcase companies in the area with its five hundred thousand bottles produced and certainly represents an excellent reality of wine production south of Rome.
The spearhead of the company is precisely represented by the Cesanese, produced in Olevano.

DAY 5 - LAGO DI ALBANO SPORT, PIC NIC, RELAX
Lake Albano (Italian: Lago Albano or Lago di Castel Gandolfo) is a small volcanic crater lake in the Alban Hills of Lazio, at the foot of Monte Cavo, 20 km (12 mi) southeast of Rome. Castel Gandolfo, overlooking the lake, is the site of the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo.
You can rent sunbeds and sup boards or swim in the lake enjoying a summertime day in the months from May to October.
Nice and good restaurants around the lake will make your visit even more pleasant.
Driving back to Villa Sant’Angelo you can stop by Frascati or Castel San Pietro for an easy dinner and nice walk in one of these typical small cities.

Or Castello Brancaccio for an elegant dinner or a glass of wine in the terrace overlooking the valley.
